C. Wonder in Architectural Digest

C. Wonder just got a great writeup in Architectural Digest:

From the moment you walk through the oversize green-lacquer doors of Christopher Burch’s new C. Wonder store in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood, it’s clear that this is the next generation of shopping.

National Retail Federation calls C. Wonder a “must go”

The National Retail Federation BIG Show Preview has called Pompei A.D.‘s C. Wonder store a “must go” … where … “Shoppers are encouraged to interact and explore – a hallmark of store designer Pompei A.D.‘s “C3” philosophy, which integrates Commerce, Culture and Community into the brand experience.” Check it out here.

ITP Winter Show 2011

if you’re around this weekend, check out the show from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP). Lots of bleeding edge ideas about, well…interactive technology.

Extra bonus: you can see Danny Rosen’s “Wooden Mirror” in the upstairs lobby, one of the coolest high/low tech interactive sculptures I’ve ever seen:

MRketplace interviews Ron Pompei about C3 philosophy

MRketplace, a menswear industry publication, has just posted an interview with Ron Pompei about our work on The Art of Shaving and My.Suit:

Pompei started his career as an artist, creating light installations and sculpture; he then moved on to commercial design for stores and restaurants. Current menswear clients include The Art of Shaving and My.Suit, where he’s managed to create unique environments in which men are comfortable enough to hang out but inspired enough to spend money.

The Art of Shaving in the LA Times

The Pompei A.D.-designed Art of Shaving Men’s Spa in Beverly Hills has been getting some great reactions:

When we ducked in to check out the new digs, brand representatives told us that moving forward, stores (the number of which is growing rapidly, and is expected to hit 63 by the end of 2011) would resemble the look and feel of the Beverly Hills space. That’s a good thing because the décor — which includes walls covered with vintage-looking razor ads, shaving-related cartoons and, flanking the front entryway, a wall-hanging comprised of hundreds of razor blades — manages to toe the exceedingly fine line between manly and trying-too-hard-masculinity.

Tangerine Tango

NPR’s Morning Edition had a segment this morning about Pantone’s Color of the Year 2012: “Tangerine Tango.” Take a listen here.

Globus Organics

I’m not a fan of packaged produce but global organics makes it look so fresh!
