Threadless.com, an online t-shirt retailer, will open a retail location in their hometown of Chicago this Spring. Started in 2001 by two friends in a garage, Threadless.com collects original t-shirt designs from customers, and allows the online community to decide which designs should be sold. By 2005 the site was raking in $6.2M, 2006 sales are estimated at $20M, demonstrating how the creative use of genuine co-authorship inspires rabid customer loyalty.
