The first “new” Kiehl’s store opened in Stockholm in December. The distinctive character, and rich history of the Kiehl’s brand has led to an extremely loyal customer base. We took parts of their existing design (marble, stainless steel, adventure photographs) and updated them for a 21st century apothecary feel. The fixtures, made from recycled materials, were designed to be light and efficient. The existing circular stair and the terra cotta tiles at the back of the store just required some strategic demolition for exposure. The mezzanine is another notable element, that elegantly highlights the double-height volume at the front of the store.
