The Renegade Craft Fair
“The Renegade Craft Fair is a unique DIY event organized by Sue Blatt and Kathleen Habbley. When this event began in 2003, there was nothing else like it. We took up crafts as a hobby after college and decided to try selling our stuff in local fairs. To our surprise, no events were catering to the burgeoning DIY craft community or even prohibited crafts all together. So we thought of organizing a fair of our own that tapped into this movement and provided a laid back, fresh venue for artists and shoppers alike.”

Human Rights Watch Film Festival
"Always at the intersection of culture and politics, the festival this year has a particular focus on artists as activists––not only those making the films but their subjects as well. Several films take a look at the power of photographers to document abuses against people and nature and to possibly change the course of events."

Television
The Apples in Stereo
Dragons of Zynth
"Three generations of alternative music rock Central Park.
One of the most important bands to emerge from the mid-‘70s New York punk scene, Television was founded on the double-guitar attack of leader Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd.
Led by songwriter Rob Schneider (co-founder of the Elephant 6 collective that included ‘90s low-fi stars Neutral Milk Hotel), The Apples specialize in a sunny power pop that owes as much to Sonic Youth as it does The Beach Boys.
One of the city’s most groundbreaking new bands, Dragons Of Zynth combine punk, dub, funk, soul and heavy metal in a way so fresh it’s been given its own name: Afrotek."
