“Sketch 120 is a design charrette presented by Design in 5, a new group of the Architectural League, formed for designers of all disciplines 5 years or less out of school.

With all five New York boroughs under construction, it’s impossible to walk more than a block or two without seeing some part of the city being reinvented. Construction is expected to reach a record level high this year. Here’s your chance to respond to and rethink an inevitable physical and visual result of all of this construction. A design problem will be given to participants promptly at 3:00 pm to solve in roughly two hours. All work will then be pinned up and the invited jury will hold an open discussion and critique with participants. A critical conversation will emerge from the work generated and the questions posed by the original brief.

The charrette is open to all young designers five years or less out of school, whether you are a graphic, industrial, or fashion designer, an artist or architect. Drinks will be available. You may participate as an individual or as a team of up to three people.
