Johhny Aiello’s “Aiello&Venus,” a retrospective of 100 works—paintings, drawings and prints—will be presented at the C3 Gallery in Soho, opening November 9 and running until December 14. The opening and show are open to the public.

The opening is Friday, November 9, from 6pm to 10pm, at 161 Avenue of the Americas (Spring Street), second floor. Please direct inquiries to Monte Bartlett at 212 431 1262.

The gallery is located at the headquarters of architecture and branding firm Pompei A.D. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 10am-5pm, and Saturday 12pm-4pm. The gallery will be closed from Wednesday, November 21 until Monday, November 26.

As the title suggests, women are the focus of the exhibit and Aiello’s expertise in various styles. The selection of works from various periods of his nearly five-decade career gives this collection of nudes the distinction of being quite varied while also cohering as a single body of work.

Pompei A.D. founder Ron Pompei personally curated Aiello’s work for this 45-year survey. According to Pompei, “The immense diversity of Aiello’s work awakens the innate potential to appreciate our own erupting visions and worlds unfolding in a primordial grove down the lane from where we live. We seldom remember the path leading there from our greener years. Aiello brings it around again.” BIO
Born 1943. BFA and MA University of the Arts, Philadelphia.
Twelve one-man exhibitions.
Many private collections.
A few museums and a few prizes.

Artist note:
After an early and quick success, for the past 40 years, Aiello has been doing art-in-abstentia. Discovered by Ron Pompei in 2005, Ron released Aiello from the obscurity of his self-imposed exile.
C3 Gallery exhibits cover a wide range of disciplines and media from sculptural installations, graphics, photography, video to architecture and the performing arts. The gallery is a public arts venue conceived, produced and directed by Pompei A.D., a design firm that creates transformational experiences through architecture and experience branding. Pompei A.D.’s work finds its roots in the integration of Commerce, Culture and Community: C3.
