At the Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturdays, thousands of visitors enjoy free programs of art and entertainment the first Saturday of each month from 5–11 p.m. All evening long, the Museum Café serves a wide selection of food and beverages, and a cash bar offers wine and beer. The first Saturday of each month.

This month’s theme: “Discover Love in the Lunar New Year”

6:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m. Music: Internationally known pipa player/vocalist Min Xiao-Fen's Blue Pipa Trio plays traditional Chinese music, modern compositions, and interpretations of American jazz.

6:00 p.m. Spoken Word: Brooklyn-based slam poet Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai explores Asian American identity, womanhood, and urban realities.

6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. Hands-On Art: Participants are invited to carve their own Chinese chop, a personal stamp of a name or symbol.

6:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. Dance Performance: Acclaimed dance group Keigwin Company presents the stunning piece, "Love Songs," following vibrant dance solos and a duet by Sounds of Korea.

7:00 p.m. Young Voices Gallery Talk: Members of the Student Guide program will present an interactive tour of the Asian galleries.

8:00 p.m. Curator Talk: Curator of Asian art Joan Cummins leads a talk in the Asian galleries.

8:00 p.m. Film: Watch two aspiring artists navigate the trials and tribulations of love in the romantic comedy, Love Jones (Theodore Witcher, 1997, 108 min., R).

8:30 p.m. Film : See the Oscar-nominated film Eat Drink Man Woman (Ang Lee, 1994, 123 min., NR), about family, love, and bittersweet surprises.

9:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m. Karaoke: Visitors are invited to sing their hearts out in an unprecedented karaoke session.

9:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. Dance Party: Salsa the night away with the famous DJ Henry Knowles. Dance lesson begins an hour before.
