Greene Street Salon hosts unique cross-media events for New York City’s most talented emerging artists. These events bring together
8-10 local artists to share and appreciate each other’s work in the informal setting of a SoHo loft. These evenings are well attended,
usually drawing an enthusiastic audience of over 100 guests. Diverse artistic media mingle in this downtown celebration of creativity: photographers,
cellists, actors, fashion designers, bluegrass, painters, comedians, world music, film makers, and more. Following about an hour and a half of performances,
wine and light refreshments are available while everyone socializes, jams and helps to build this catalyzing collective of inspirational New Yorkers.
Background
Greene Street Salon was formed in the Fall of 2002 to create a stimulating and supportive environment for artists of all disciplines. This
New York City based organization curates unique cultural events that introduce exceptional emerging artists to new audiences. These events range from parties and concerts to
more intimate salons, or informal performance events, where artists share their work and ideas. These salons are held at alternative venues, usually private residences and downtown
loft spaces. At these events audiences ranging in size from 50-100 guests gather to socialize and celebrate this communal appreciation of the arts.
