Who we are
Let us introduce ourselves

We are the sum of our people—their skills, creativity, and knowledge. Our staff come from a variety of backgrounds and places, all adding to the cultural diversity of our company and outlook.

Ron Pompei began his creative exploration as an artist, creating light art installations and sculptures that Philadelphia Magazine cited as “changing the face of Philadelphia.” Since then, as principal of the New York City-based creative services firm Pompei A.D., Ron has gone on to do equally groundbreaking work in design, experiential branding, and cultural entrepreneurship. Ron’s design philosophy is centered on C3: Commerce, Culture, and Community, the so-called “third place” outside of home and work, where social interaction is facilitated by commerce and culture. He believes C3 can revitalize many suburban and urban venues and transform them into meeting places where people can shop, learn and socialize.

Ron Pompei’s multidisciplinary education and training as an artist, sculptor and architect is the lifeblood of Pompei A.D.’s holistic approach to its projects, enabling the firm to integrate diverse forms of expression into meaningful transformational experiences. This innovative firm has collaborated with a wide spectrum of clients including Té Casan, Sony, Coca-Cola, Kmart, The Discovery Channel, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Rubin Museum of Art, UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, Fortune magazine, Harley-Davidson, California Academy of Sciences, Levi’s, Herman Miller and MTV. Ron’s visionary approach to his work has been recognized by publications such as the New York Times, New York Times Magazine, Fortune magazine, Business Week Online, Interior Design, Blueprint, Metropolis, Fast Company and the Financial Times.

As Vice President of Real Estate Development for The Bronson Companies in Los Angeles for five years, she guided the development of seven different parcels, ranging from a 450-acre master-planned community to a 120-acre development along Highway 10 and two seven-acre shopping centers. Her responsibilities included building relationships with investors, city planners, brokers, retailers, local business owners, urban planners, engineers, architects, builders, environmentalists and Indian Tribal Chiefs, resulting in highly successful project development.

In 2001, prior to her Real Estate Development career, she produced 3000 Miles to Graceland, starring Kevin Costner and Kurt Russell. She then produced, hosted and owned her own movie review show, Chix on Flix, with co-hosts Katie Wagner and Karyn Bryant, altogether producing 150 episodes. She brought her producing and networking skills to Pompei A.D. in 2007, when Ron Pompei launched C3 Developments, and continues to make sure the company gets the recognition it deserves for all its amazing projects.

As fate would have it, Stephanie’s curiosity and constant search for new ideas have brought her to Pompei A.D. She joined the company earlier this year and has been an integral part to the C-Wonder team. She has helped develop the design concept to the initial roll out of the first set of stores.  With a passion for architecture, design and an interest in the way people live, Stephanie worked for a number of years at a residential architecture firm in Manhattan. She brings with her a high level of attention to detail and a holistic design aesthetic.

While majoring in Psychology and Art History at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, Stephanie went abroad to study in various fields of design in Hong Kong and Europe. She attended Central St. Martins in London where she continued to broaden her cultural and design perspectives to eventually inspire her to enroll in the Interior Design program at Parsons the New School for Design, after graduating from university. Stephanie co-founded a non-profit organization focusing on sustainable living and has won design competitions, such as the USGBC Sustainable Suite, alongside her fellow Parsons graduates. Those experiences reinforces her conviction to work in a company that shares her passion for design, artistic community, creativity, and social awareness.

In her spare time, Stephanie is quite the flaneuse; she enjoys wandering around the many markets, galleries and exhibits that make up the cultural mosaic of New York City. She loves all things minimal, white and made in Japan.

Brittany has been captivated by the bright lights of the big city since her first visit at the tender age of seven. She headed south directly after completing her BA at Carleton University, and first joined the Pompei AD team in 2006, working on branding concepts for clients such as Old Navy and LivingWell. In 2009, she followed her roots to Ireland and completed an MSc in Marketing at University College Dublin’s Smurfit Business School. She returned to Pompei AD in 2011 as a branding consultant to develop branding concepts for Hudson Yards in New York City, and to lead a large real estate branding project in Bellevue, Washington. Brittany is most inspired by the study of culture and human behavior that is so essential to branding. She believes that understanding the new brand landscape is a dynamic learning process, and that a deeper understanding of the world is vital in creating brands that are more authentic, relevant and meaningful to the people, and the experiences of the people that surround them.

When not in the office, Brittany is racing sailboats in the New York harbor, or traveling to climb the highest rock formations she can find. She feels most in tune with the world when she is hunkered down in a tent on the side of a mountain, or climbing giant granite walls. Brittany’s continuing search for new and greater challenge parallels the creative drive and desire to learn that continues to influence and inspire her work at Pompei AD.

Tyler graduated with honors from The Ohio State University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. Shortly thereafter he decided to take his talents to New York and continue his education at Pratt Institute entering their GAUD program with advanced standing.

In addition to the demanding curriculum Tyler held a position as a graduate teaching assistant while at Pratt and has had his work exhibited at Robert and Hazel Siegal Gallery as well as The Center for Architecture in NYC. Upon graduating with a master’s degree, Tyler collaborated with the firm SOFTlab to create a color installation at the LES bridgegallery. The project called ‘CHROMAtex’ was the winner of Pantone’s ‘Mind Blowing Color’ competition and is featured on the cover of the July/August 2011 issue of Frame magazine.

Tyler joined Pompei AD in September 2010 and continues to apply his varied skill set to a growing list of projects including The art of Shaving, M&M’s London, Mavi, and CWonder.

Joe arrived at Pompei A.D. in late 2007, and has collaborated extensively with Urban Outfitters to develop the unique and evolving language of their stores at multiple locations in the US and Europe. His role with Urban Outfitters varied in scale from furniture design and detailing to managing multi-level store projects. Joe has also worked with a variety of clients worldwide, designing and developing new store concepts for Monsoon, Mavi Jeans, My.Suit, and The Touring Company. Other projects include managing larger scale site planning and landscape projects for Indus Healthcare and Hyatt Hotel and Resorts.

Joe graduated in 2005 from the University of Virginia with a Bachelors of Science in Architecture, along with an associated degree from the DIS School in Copenhagen. Prior to joining Pompei, Joe worked in Miami at Arquitectonica, focusing on high-rise residential tower design, and mixed-use design/planning.

Michael Tyznik’s career at Pompei A.D. started with an internship in 2008. While studying for his Bachelors of Science in Architecture at the University of Cincinnati, Michael discovered he was just as interested in graphic design as he was in architecture. In his school projects, he concentrated as much on the graphic representation of the buildings and concepts as on the architecture itself.

At Pompei A.D., Michael has the opportunity to lend his talents to a diverse collection of both graphic and environmental design projects. These have included completely rebranding British retail giant Monsoon, developing one-of-a-kind architectural installations for Urban Outfitters, designing and organizing signage for Hyatt Resorts, and developing character stories for M&M’s World, as well as working with Coles Australia, Accessorize, Illume, Disney, and Aldo.

Since joining Pompei A.D. in the summer of 2010, Will has become an integral member of the Art of Shaving design team. He has worked to develop and apply the Art of Shaving brand concept at over forty new and existing locations. Additionally, he has worked on developing new experiential branding concepts for the Art of Shaving's luxury Men’s Spa.

Will holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Catholic University of America, as well as Masters Degree in Architecture from the Pratt Institute. His academic and theoretical work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and design publications. Most notably, he was the winner of the prestigious Cardinal O’Boyle Design Competition, and his design for a boutique hotel in Northern Sicily was featured in an Italian Department of Tourism and Culture publication on urban design.

To complement his academic successes, Will has previous experience working with a northern New Jersey design firm. This experience proved invaluable as he was involved in a wide variety of residential, commercial and adaptive reuse buildings, in addition to managing some of the firm’s high profile client projects. A rigorous theoretical background and hands-on experience provide the ability to synthesize abstract design concepts with the practicalities of architectural design.
