Project Summary

Pompei A.D.’s relationship with Urban Outfitters began 25 years ago. Since then, the firm has designed over 95 site-specific locations in North America and Europe.

Pompei A.D. collaborates closely with Urban Outfitters to create retail environments that evolve along with the customer’s values. The results are a hybrid of the collaborations between client, designer and artisans and a process rooted in the experience of each contributor. The selection of finishes and materials all reference the regional climate and aesthetic, and establish a foundation of authenticity for every project.

Authenticity is a core value of the younger customer, so this value is used as a point of departure. The Urban Outfitters design process typically begins by revealing the underlying building that the project is to be integrated into. The space is then layered with new finishes and fixtures—with oversized landings for merchandise and for customers to see and be seen. Together, these environmental elements create an integrated expression of the brand values.
